What is River Clay?

River Clay is a juried fine arts festival held every October in downtown Decatur, Alabama, now in its eleventh year. More than 70 artists from across the country are selected by jury to show and sell their work, alongside live music, chalk art, food, and family activities. It's presented by the Carnegie Visual Arts Center and made possible by sponsors like you.

When and where is it?

October 23 to 25, 2026, in downtown Decatur around the City Hall area. The weekend opens Friday evening, October 23, with the Rendezvous preview party, then the full festival runs Saturday and Sunday.

What is the Rendezvous?

The Friday night preview party, and honestly the best-kept secret of the weekend. Guests get first look and first dibs on the art before doors open to everyone else, plus food, drinks, and time with the artists. Tickets include a weekend pass. It sells out attention fast, so grab tickets early at riverclay.org.

How do tickets work?

Weekend admission tickets are available at riverclay.org and at the gate. Buying in advance means you skip the line. Rendezvous tickets are sold separately and include weekend admission.

Is it family friendly?

Very. Chalk art, kids activities, food, and music make it an easy all-ages outing. Bring the whole crew.

Where does the money go?

River Clay has reinvested more than $56,000 in arts education in our community, including student programs and the student arts contest. Sponsorships and ticket sales are what make that possible.

How will our company be recognized?

Recognition depends on your sponsorship level and can include logo placement on the website, printed materials, on-site signage, social media thank-yous, and Rendezvous benefits. Your sponsorship confirmation lists your specific benefits, and we're glad to walk through them any time.

Can our employees volunteer?

Yes, and we'd love it. Festival weekend takes a village, and sponsor volunteer groups are a great team activity. Reach out through the contact below and we'll find the right fit.
